Scrapping Saturday & Stuck?! Sketch Entry

So here I am for another Scrapping Saturday for Mad For Markers…. sharing a different technique with you for using your Copic Markers when it comes to Scrapping. For this layout I was totally inspired by the current sketch over at Stuck Sketches and decided to create my own background, using a stamp and my Copics. I decided to use my Kaisercraft Worn Grid Stamp, I “inked” it up using my 100 marker first and then staggered the stamping across the bottom half of my cardstock. I then cleaned off my stamp using my 0 Blender solution and reinked it with my R27 marker. I again staggered my stamping in between the black grids already stamped. (Realising now… should of taken a photo before I stuck everything down).

To finish off this layout, I coloured up some chipboard stars, again in the R27 and 100. I inked the edges of my journaling also with the R27 and 100.
I love how quickly this layout came together and I was able to coordinate and create my own pattern paper, so quickly and easily. It really pushed me out of my comfort zone but am so happy with the final result, so much so  I think I’ll use this technique again. I also snuck a little Purple Pumpkin in on this layout to, with the o so cute Apple button.

Till next time,
Rach

Scrapping Saturday & Some Purple Pumpkin

What a weekend it is here in Sydney… the weather is absolutely miserable….. its a long weekend… and here in our house we’ve struck down with the flu….

Of late… I have no mojo at all … anytime I’ve attempted to scrap all I’ve been able to do is shuffle around paper for awhile and then get up and walk away…. On Thursday I received some yummy Purple Pumpkin and with these inspiring buttons and doilies and their Monthly Challenge Sketch it inspired me to scrap a layout finally.

Today’s share is a layout which uses one of my absolute favourite colour combinations… of red, black and white.

The layout also combines my love of Copics…. which has been used to Colour the Chipboard title…. Mad For Markers have consistently low prices and great customer service. You can see my full post with some tips for colouring your chipboard with Copics over on the Mad For Markers Blog.

Hopefully over this long weekend I can find some more inspiration and scrap a couple more pages…. let’s see how I go… till next time….

Lost…. Mojo

Hey… just wanted to pop in and let you know that I’m suffering from a sever case of lost Mojo….. I can’t colour, I can’t scrap… nothing happening here at the moment. Am going to look about and see if some challenges inspire me to hopefully get me out of this slump. Any suggestions on how you get your mojo going again… please share… or if you know of some great challenge sites… Look forward to hearing some suggestions… I will try anything about now ;-p

Scrapping Saturday

With the weather the way it is today in Sydney, it’s great weather to be colouring and creating. So for some inspiration today I have a layout share, which uses some recent My Minds Eye papers, which are available from Scraploot, which are just great for masculine layouts.

Once again, I have used my Copic Markers to colour the chipboard flourish, I used BG09.
Don’t forget to pop on over to the Mad for Markers store for all your Copic needs, and don’t forget Sammi will be uploading the new May release into the store in the next day or so….. Happy colouring,

Today I have a quick page to share, which uses the new Greeting Farm Creeper Crew Collection which has just been released and is available in the Mad for Markers store. I have teamed up the new stamp with the funky new Teresa Collins Collection On The Edge, which is just great for Boy layouts.

Scrapping Saturday

Here is my post for Mad For Markers…..
Not much else happening around here at the moment …. but if anyone has found my Mojo could you please send it back to me.. lol

Heya Copic Lovers….
Rachael here for another Scrapping Saturday… today I am going to share with you a layout, which uses Copic Markers to alter my embellishments, making them suit perfectly to the colours in my layout.

From my previous posts you would know that I love to use my Copic Markers on Chipboard. But what I don’t think I have shared with you, is how I make sure that the Copic colour is the coordinating colour for my layout.

I find that different Copic colours react differently with Chipboard. To ensure that I have the right shade or tone of Copic marker, I turn my chipboard over to the back and do a few test spots with a couple of Copic Markers, which I think may match well with other elements in my Layout.
For example in todays layout, I thought that I would like to try and keep my chipboard title ‘Little Man’, quite light. However, through test spots on the back of my chipboard (using B93, B95 & b97), I discovered that the colours B93 & B95 weren’t showing up enough. So I went with B97. I also found out today that this particular chipboard piece was much more absorbent than some of the others I have used previously and so therefore I needed to do a second and third coat on the chipboard to completely cover it. I love that coordinating embellishments for my layouts is so quick and easy.
Since my obsession with Copics began I stopped purchasing coloured ribbons and flowers etc., and now purchase them in white and alter them using my Copics. Its great to see some of the effects that you can achieve.

Well enough chit chat from me here this morning …  here is my layout.

Scrapping Saturday… on a Sunday

Here is my post I just shared over on the Mad For Markers Blog….
Good morning Copic Lovers! Hope you are all enjoying a lovely weekend and are able to squeeze some colouring into it….

Today I have a layout to share with you of my son, taken a little while back, and it shows his love adoration for Buzz Lightyear. I love how this layout turned out, with the main element being the Copic Coloured Buzz light year…. I can’t believe how much easier finding that right embellishment or accent for my layout has become since I have started using Copics… it just seems to make my pages come together so much more quickly. So here it is….

Mad For Markers Scrapping Saturday

Here is my post, which is up over at the Mad for Markers blog….

So here I am again for another Saturday Scrapping and today I have a cute layout to share with you, with some adorable Hero Arts Monster Fun Stamps teamed up with my Copic Markers (of course), with some Echo Park Little Boy Collection thrown in (which is now available at Scraploot, along with Springtime and For The Record Collections). Today I am going to share a tip with you for matching patterned papers to your Copics. To do this I have a small (A5) sized Copic Hand Colour Chart, which I place underneath my pattern paper to one edge and expose the colour family I am trying to match, e.g. Yellows (Y) I slide my hand colour chart along until I find the group of markers that best reflect the yellow that is in my patterned paper. I do this for each of the colours that I am wanting to use in my colouring that I want to link directly to my patterned papers.

Here is my share for today, along with a close up of the colouring

My post today doesn’t show any Crazy hair colouring…. however the colours I’ve used in my colouring sure could be used to colour some Crazy hair… so pop on over to our Challenge Blog and get in on the action.

Happy colouring and have a good weekend,

Overdue….

So here I am a few months on from my last post… Life has thrown us a few curve balls and therefore blogging has been low on the priority list…. but things are improving so no reason like right now to get back to it…. So just the other day was Valentines Day, and although we’re aren’t big on Valentines Day, (I think any day is an excuse to do something nice for those you love) I have a set of cards and a tag I created for a recent class I taught at Scraploot, themed for Love! This class focussed on colouring black & white. So here are some pretties for you….
